About BACN

Built by first responders. Open to the amateur radio community.

BACN was created to give Disaster Communication team members a way to connect, share ideas, keep skills fresh, and enjoy time together on the air.

Our Story

The Backup Auxiliary Communications Network, or BACN, was created by first responders with Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services. The goal was simple: give Disaster Communication team members a chance to connect, share ideas, and enjoy some off-the-clock camaraderie.

The club meets regularly to sharpen skills, stay up to date, and keep operators involved in communications readiness.

Who Can Participate?

BACN welcomes licensed amateur radio operators who want to participate in club nets, improve their operating skills, and stay connected with others who care about backup and disaster communications.
