Connect
A regular place for Disaster Communication team members and local operators to check in, talk radio, and share what they are learning.
The Backup Auxiliary Communications Network was created by first responders with Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services to give Disaster Communication team members a chance to connect, share ideas, sharpen skills, and enjoy some off-the-clock camaraderie.
BACN brings together licensed amateur radio operators, first responders, and communications-minded volunteers who want to stay active, stay sharp, and stay connected.
A regular place for Disaster Communication team members and local operators to check in, talk radio, and share what they are learning.
Nets and meetings help operators keep their skills current and build confidence with radio procedure before the pressure is on.
It is still amateur radio. BACN also exists for the fun part: good people, useful conversations, and off-the-clock camaraderie.
All licensed amateur radio operators are invited to check in using the KG5DPK repeater located on Shinall Mountain in West Little Rock.
Controllers can use the BACN Net Logger to start a net session, record check-ins, and export completed net logs.
